My journey into weight loss and fitness started more than 30 years ago when I worked to help several friends and co-workers in their struggle to maintain military weight standards.  Losing weight was not easy then and it is not easy now.  But, with 60% of our population overweight, it is no wonder that people are concerned with it.

Find an Easy Diet Plan

Any diet can be used to lose weight, but keeping it off (especially if you need to lose a lot) usually involves a lifestyle change that includes diet and exercise at the very least.

Most of us need help getting started and support to stay with a program until our weight loss goals are reached and we learn how to maintain our new weight.  We want a program that guarantees weight loss and gets at the reasons that it is so hard to stick with a program and one that really works.

It is time to get started.  Take a moment to come up with a basic weight loss plan for yourself.  Just a general statement for how and why you’re going to lose weight and change your image and the way you feel about yourself.

You don’t need a complicated plan, just describe how you plan to lose a few pounds a month to reach your personal weight loss goal.  Focus on what you want to gain when you start dropping those unwanted pounds.

  • Your friends see something is different about you, but can’t quite figure it out.
  • You go shopping and try on new clothes without being embarrassed.
  • You begin to notice that all of your clothes are too big.
  • You notice that it is easier to do simple things, like tie your sneakers.
  • You begin to have so much more energy it stops being a chore to play with the kids.

So, make a goal.  How about “I will lose one pound every week by cutting out burgers and fries at lunch until I drop two dress sizes or fit into last year’s jeans”.
