About

You might want to know more about the person behind this website and his inspiration.  I’ve been working more than 40 years and I’ve always seemed to work in a position where it was necessary to provide information or teach people how to do something or improve something.  I was in the military for more than 20 years, I’ve been a manager in the semi-conductor industry, a diesel engine instructor and I’ve been a safety professional for more than 25 years. I’ve had three significant career changes and I’m looking forward to retirement.  I want our retirement to be successful.

I like challenges and I enjoy writing articles about health and safety issues and other subjects that interest me.  Over the years, I’ve had good friends who were on a constant battle with weight loss.  Diets didn’t always work and sometimes an exercise program was too difficult to follow. My personal belief is that permanent weight loss requires a lifestyle change and that people can learn how to lose and keep the weight off. For that reason, the name of the website sounds like a college course.

This website is for me and anyone else who can use the information and tips. There’s a lot of good information available that can help people who are sincerely interested in this type of lifestyle change. I’ll keep adding to this site as time goes on and I get more good content for it.

My inspiration comes from my wife and best friend, Debi.  We’ve been together most of our lives and we did a great job of raising four successful kids.  She has been very supportive and understanding during the many hours I’ve spent working on this project.
